Editorial policy

By AfroTech.

ZARWise exists to give South Africans accurate, independent answers to everyday money questions. These are the rules it follows.

Who's responsible

ZARWise is created and maintained by AfroTech, which is responsible for every calculator, guide and figure on the site. Calculators and guides are written and maintained with the help of software tools, including AI. Every figure is calculated from the official tables, covered by the automated checks described in the methodology, and published under AfroTech's responsibility.

Accuracy first

Professional review

ZARWise is arranging independent review of its tax and finance content by registered professionals. Pages they have reviewed will name the reviewer, their professional registration, and the date of the review. A reviewer checks the accuracy of the content; they don't give advice to visitors, and AfroTech remains responsible for the site.

Independence and advertising

ZARWise is free because it shows advertising served by Google AdSense. Advertisers have no say over the calculators, guides or figures, and ads are always clearly separate from content. ZARWise doesn't sell financial products, take commissions or accept payment for coverage, and it never asks for your personal information to use a calculator.

Corrections

If you find an error, please tell us. Confirmed errors are corrected promptly. Corrections to figures, and other significant changes, are recorded with their date in the changelog.

Not advice

ZARWise gives general information and estimates to help you plan. It isn't tax, legal or financial advice, and ZARWise isn't a registered financial services provider. For decisions that matter, speak to a registered tax practitioner, financial adviser, bond originator or conveyancing attorney.
